Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Operative to join our dynamic team at Donaldson Door Systems in Plains, Airdrie. As an Operative, you will play a crucial role in the assembly door sets or stairs, contributing to the production of high-quality timber products. This position is physically demanding and requires resilience and a strong work ethic. Attention to detail, precision, and a strong commitment to health and safety are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting with the production of door sets:

  • Support the assembly line in creating high-quality door sets, following established procedures and guidelines.
  • Operate machinery and tools required in the production process, ensuring all equipment is used safely and correctly.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of production targets.

Working to tight tolerances to produce a high-quality product:

  • Adhere to precise measurements and specifications to ensure products meet company standards.
  • Monitor and adjust production processes to maintain high accuracy and consistency.
  • Pay close attention to detail to prevent defects and ensure the end product meets customer expectations.

Carrying out quality checks:

  • Perform regular inspections of products during various stages of production.
  • Identify and report any defects or deviations from quality standards immediately.
  • Document quality checks and maintain records to ensure traceability and continuous improvement.

Health & Safety Knowledge & Awareness:

  • Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participate in safety training sessions and stay updated on best practices and legal requirements.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and ensure all colleagues do the same.

Flexible approach to required production tasks:

  • Be willing to assist in different areas of the production process as needed.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and production demands with a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning new skills and improving existing ones to support overall production efficiency.

What You Will Bring:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or timber engineering environment preferred but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and tasks.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Positive can-do attitude.

The successful candidate does not require any previous experience as all essential training will be provided.

Work Hours: This full-time role entails 39 hours per week, providing a stable schedule with weekends free for your leisure. Work hours are Monday to Thursday from 8am to 4.30pm, and Friday from 7am to 2.00pm.
